Schrödinger's cat & Plato’s horse
Since decades and decades wise people had tried to find the Ultimate Reality of Human Life. They had questioned themselves to find answers for some questions..
"What is life?"
"Why you came here?"
"What is death and what will be beyond death?"
"What is the purpose of this life?"
These kind of questions where you can't find an exact typical answer are called as "philosophical or Atypical questions” in life. Today world is created with physical and materialistic purposes. Everyone's life is consist of typical and standard purposes. They put those purposes into a linear time line and try to fulfill those. That is some kind of race where you will never stop. A desire is always there, to be fulfilled after another desire. The world exist tightly in this thinking frame.
The question that is remained for us is ,Is that all ?
According to me, we would never be abled to find that if we find an answer physically. So then we need to ask by ourselves what is non physical in this world? The boundary between being physical or non physical is an imagination when we think of this in detail.
After the colonization on the earth, evolutionary humans created a political society. There, they established a system of government and gathered around it to maintain life. However, when society was physically established, people wanted to find the true meaning of life.
- Who were the people who searched for the meaning of life?
- What happened to them?
Plato's tripartite theory of the soul
According to this, the human soul is devided into three parts:
- Wisdom (Logistikon),
- Spirit (Thymoeides), and
- Appetite (Epithymetikon).
Each part corresponds to a specific type of desire or function, and a balanced harmony between them is crucial for a just and virtuous life. According to him,The life is more enlightened when the above three things are equal and balanced.
The “Spirit” here is the pure feeling. It is imbued with compassion, love, and life. He compares it to a tamed horse..”Appetite” is the desire to seek the joy and pleasure of life. He compares it to an untamed wild horse who has much more stamina and energy than a tamed horse. So that's why people are really motivated in seeking pleasure rather than spirit in the life. But the two horses do not travel alone on the path until they find final destination, they need a rider to travel. The rider guides the two horses well and leads the journey. The rider is the “Wisdom”.
Schrödinger's Cat Paradox
This is a thought experiment. In essence, it imagines a cat in a sealed box with a radioactive atom that has a 50% chance of decaying in an hour. If the atom decays, it triggers a mechanism that kills the cat. Until the box is opened, the cat is considered to be both alive and dead at the same time. The existence of two different fates at the same moment and the fate that is observed is suddenly formed on the observer. Thais existence of 2 different fates at a sometime is "Quantum superimposition". Both can be observed and the particular observation is depend on the observer.
Final words
We do not yet fully understand the universe we live in. It may even be much different than we currently imagine. It may never be fully understood within the physical scientific framework that exists in this era. But there is still some hope for certain scientific revolutions, especially Cognitive Neuroscience and Quantum Physics .However, there is another problem here question is whether we as humans need to fully understand it in order to survive. Otherwise, is it enough to superficially analyze the short period between birth and death to live this life?
While that is enough for some, but some work hard to find the truth, not because it is not enough. According to me, they have two reasons for this. One is to find the true purpose of life, because philosophers believe that it is connected to the true nature of the universe. Moreover, adding something unknown hidden in the universe to present life is the hope that it can make it more comfortable than it currently is.However, we should appreciate the journey they took with their sacrifice of their lives, because it opened a new door for humanity.
The cat is your given fate which is filled with Appetite and Spirit. You are the Free will who has the authority for get the choice to observe. Here you have the wisdom to make the choice. If we think about this phenomenon, you can understand how much power you have to determine your own destiny to decide which cat you are going to take. That is your “Free Will". But the question I have to ask here is whether you are using that full of chance in life to decide it or whether you are just going with the flow...
