Intelligence Vs Memory

Every organ in our body is designed for a specific function. No organ or tissue can function beyond that function. For example, your heart pumps blood.Your kidneys filter your blood and remove toxic compounds and substances as urine. Your skeleton supports you. It helps you to move. It produces blood. The tissues mentioned above have undergone some permanent function...

What do you think about your brain?

It is difficult to talk about the overall function of the brain. Today we are going to talk about a specific area of your brain called "Amygdala".

The amygdala plays a special role in creating memories and also plays a special role in responding to an external stimulus. Let's take an example.

If you see a dog,  that information goes to the occipital cortex of the brain and gives the signal "You saw a dog. "Then the amygdala, the brain's memory center, immediately search data's stored there about dogs whether you love them or not. If you are a person who don't love dogs, amygdala gives you the information that you don't like the dog. It then triggers a response that represents that you don't like the dog.

You react to lots of what you see, hear, or feel as a pre-programmed response. So you quickly start to react to the world in a way that is habitual.

Can this be changed?

What if I tell you yes?

Intelligence allows you to think differently about something before you react to it. It can analyse details differently and newly and can change the attitude towards that detail..So the intelligence is built at your prefrontal cortex.

The prefrontal cortex (PFC) plays a crucial role in analysis and complex cognitive functions. It's involved in executive functions like planning, decision-making, and problem-solving, which all require analyzing information and making inferences.

The prefrontal cortex (PFC) can exert control over the amygdala, a brain region involved in emotional responses, particularly fear and anxiety. It especially the medial prefrontal cortex  and the amygdala are interconnected and work together to regulate emotional expression. The PFC can help to modulate the amygdala's activity, influencing fear processing and the overall emotional state.

So that's why Intelligence  become more powerful than Memory !
