Thoughts
Neuroscientific view on thoughts
In neuroscience, a thought is generally defined as a mental state or series of mental states with content, often involving personal attitudes or perspectives towards that content.
The minimum time it takes for a thought to occur can be very rapid, potentially within fractions of a second. Some studies suggest that a thought can be generated and acted upon in less than 150 milliseconds. This is about half the time it takes for a blink of an eye.
All thoughts created in the human mind are not conscious and some of them can be identified as unconcious thoughts, such as dreams and habits. Human thoughts are the basic ccreator of existence. Thoughts create a drive for action. A thought is generated by sensory information that is perceived by the five senses. This information directly or indirectly causes thoughts to be generated as a memory. According to medical science, there are also symptoms related to thoughts that occur in certain mental illnesses in psychiatry.Whether thoughts are truly conscious or unconscious has been a debate since ancient times. The thoughts we experience are primarily conscious. Are they truly conscious?the great neuroscientists who are experimenting about free will and precognition suggest that we have the experience of having concious thoughts. The true limits of freewill are problematic. Its scope is also difficult to determine. Scientists currently believe that the brain creates an primary experience of having freewill.
Pathological thoughts
In some of psychiatric disorders, thought problems are created. CD ( Obsessive Compulsive Disorders ) patients experience "obsessions" which are repetitive intrusive unwanted thoughts .Those really distress the patient and he try's to resist them but the generation of obsession is increased with the effort of resistance. In psychiatry what we advice to the patients , Remove your resistance and just allow the obsession to come to you.
Schizophrenic patients experience "thought insertion ,withdrawal and broadcasting and blocking" like thought issues. Here the patient doesn't identity the thought as his or her one. They experience it as given by outside to them.
Eastern philosophy
In eastern philosophy they had identified the thought as the reason for everything. The action is built as a result of a thought. The action may cause good or bad to the out world and that process is named as "Karmaya".The thoughts are repetitively arose in our mind. The though cause us to be hear. To gain enlightenment , human needs to get the control of his or her own thoughts.
